Job Summary
Established Construction Company looking for a qualified Accountant to join the Finance Team and report to the Company Accountant.
Ideal fit will be a candidate from construction or familiar with construction having audited this sector.

Salary: Negotiable
Hours: Monday-Friday 8.30am -5.30pm

Responsibilities:
• Preparation of financial reports and monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting detail is in place
• Month end close, in accordance with agreed deadlines
• Completion of year end accounts. Liaise with external auditors as part of the audit process
• Manage, process and pay monthly payroll – circa 100 employees
• Assure computation of pay is according to company policy and in accordance with government regulations and tax legislation
• Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters
• Ensure the timely preparation and submission of various taxation and statutory returns
• Oversee the Subcontractors Payable Department
• Liaise with the QS team, Accounts Payable and Purchasing Department on cost management
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions along with ad hoc reporting on other group entities
• Act as cover for staff in the finance team in managing workloads and covering periods of absence as they arise
• Assist in ad hoc and special projects as they arise
• Work within a team environment to ensure deadlines are met
Required Experience and Skills:
• Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years PQE
• Construction industry accounting experience is an advantage
• Preferred candidate would ideally have a good mix of practice and industry experience. Candidates coming directly from practice will be considered but only where they have good overall knowledge of all aspects of accounting, audit and tax.
• Proficient in operating accounting software packages. Previous experience with Evolution M by Integrity Software would be an advantage
• Ability to adapt, multitask and work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Flexibility with the ability to prioritise work effectively
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• High level of computer literacy including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
