This project involved the construction of a new Chromatography Suite within the existing QC Laboratory fallow space. Part of the work scope included the installation of new laboratory equipment including an ICP Mass Spectrometer, Auto-sampler, Tecan & Plate Reader and 12 no. UPLC’s.
Extensive modification and extension of the existing utilities was required in order to service the new facility. These works including sprinkler modification and impairment, new laboratory gases, argon storage. In term of electrical services, modifications and expansion of the existing systems and controls to the BMS, Fire Alarm, PA, gas detection and oxygen depletion alarms were also required.
These works required extensive front end coordination and planning with the Design Team, the stake holders and the various specialist subcontractors all of which was part of Vison Contracting Ltd remit as Main Contractor and PSCS.
• Utility and electrical tie in works were carried out during scheduled shut downs in accordance with Genzyme Lock out Tag out procedures
• Specialist contractors design was required in respect of the HVAC, piping, BMS, Oxygen depletion, Argon supply, Fire protection and
Laboratory furniture works
