Vision Contracting Limited were appointed Main Contractor and PSCS for the Mary Immaculate College Summer Works 2020. The form of contract utilized was the public works PW-CF5 contract.
The work scope included the conversion of the linen room to an office space, refurbishment of the arts department, upgrade of the red stairs toilets, conversion and refurbishment of existing tiered lecture hall into 100 seater flat lecture room MIC Thurles as part of the 4 year Multi-Operator Framework.
The works included strip out of existing partitions and joinery, installation of new partitions, ceilings, floors and retrofitting high level external windows with actuators and draught seals. Installation of new roof coverings and structural supports in the form of steel beams, dry lining of internal walls along with extensive mechanical and electrical works.
Fit-out included the installation of new partitions, internal doors, vanities, suspended ceilings, floors, walls and ceiling finishes. The reconstruction of the lecture room involved the strip out of existing dry lining and stud partitions, removal of stepped structure with associated fixed desks and all interior fittings. Repair and restoration works to 7 no. existing single glazed sliding sash windows in compliance with good conservation practice.

- Phased programme to accommodate for the campus operations on a fast-track basis.
- As PSCS, we had the overall responsibilities for the safety of all staff, site-personnel, subcontractors, campus staff and students.
- Extensive strip out and installation works for internal doors, windows and furniture along with sanity ware, vanities and internal fittings.
- Mechanical and electrical works formed part of the work scope.
