Whitegate Power Station is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Station which utilises natural gas and distillate oil as fuel to generate up to 450 MW of electricity for supply to the National Grid.
We were appointed as Main Contractors to carry out alterations and improvement works to the existing control building and the adjoining warehouse building containing canteen, first aid room, locker room and toilet areas.
The works to Administration Block involved upgrading and extending the existing office facilities and control room area. Specialist AV, air conditioning, FM extinguisher, fire detection and associated electrical works formed part of the work scope which was carried out on a phased basis to ensure the plant operations were not impacted upon.

• It was crucial that the BGE Plant remained live & fully operational during the works.
• Particular attention was given to ensure that no dust seeped into specialist equipment through the use of bespoke dust bubble enclosures.
• Daily work permits were drawn up & pre-agreed with Control Room operators.
